New Jersey is known as "the diner capital of the world" and is said to be home to over 600 diners! That is a significant number because of the small size of the state. Virtually every town has its own diner, with many towns having more than one diner from which to choose. Going to a diner for my comfort food is a must whenever I visit Jersey.
There are lots of good and not-so-good diners. Yet picking a favourite diner is a very subjective thing... not to exclude anyone's favourite or some good ones out there, here is a list of my favourite Jersey diners because they all have consisently offered me good food at decent prices with fairly clean establishments (by diner standards hehe):

- Rio Grande Diner & Family Restaurant - 1305 Route 47, Rio Grande. 609.886.7376
Conspicuously absent from my list is the Tick Tock Diner in Clifton. Lately, I think this place is very off. My last two meals there were horrible! I've had school cafeteria food that was better! Sorry... yet it's a nice atmosphere inside. Try it and hopefully prove me wrong because it is thought to be one of those top Jersey diners.
